The Infrastructure Essentials BEAD Toolkit is an essential planning tool for ISPs and state broadband offices anticipating Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program funding as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
This Technology and Competition Module, an add-on component, complements the Toolkit by displaying technology and competitive information.
The Module shows the availability of the following technologies at a block level:
- Fiber (Optical Carrier / Fiber to the end user)
- Cable (DOCSIS 1, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1)
- DSL (Asymmetrical xDSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, and Symmetric xDSL)

The Module includes an exhaustive spreadsheet database of all fixed competitors, except satellite, sorted by name, location, and technology. Finally, it shows competitive intensity (number of competing entities) on a tract-by-tract basis.
This product is an add-on to The Infrastructure Essentials BEAD Toolkit. It is not intended to be used as a separate stand-alone product.
This product includes the relevant geographies in all 50 States plus the District of Columbia plus Puerto Rico.
